If you read my Top 20 Horror films list (and if you didn't now is as good a time as any), you know that I was a big fan of the Friday the 13th remake. So this is definitely good news and I look forward to seeing Jason taking care of business at the lake. I'm interested to see how they film this, because I have read that they are discussing it taking place in the winter. I think that isn't a bad idea because it has never been done before in this franchise, and that would give it a refreshing change of pace. I've also read that they are discussing a "found footage" Jason movie, which is basically similar to the "Blair Witch" and "VHS" movies. I love this idea, because it would be a first for the franchise, and I think with the right direction, can rejuvenate the franchise.

Not a fan of the winter setting...I think it would be hard to work a believable story line. Also I wouldn't want to see a found footage angle, it's been way over played in recent horror films imo...the franchise is what it is, it's not going to get any better or worse.
ReplyDeleteYea the winter setting idea is tough to sell which is why it hasn't caught on....Sounds like the found footage angle is picking up steam....I think parts of the movie being found footage would be cool... I agree that its been over done though in other films
